Frequently asked questions
Answers to the most common questions about LendKeeper for iPhone and Android.
Is LendKeeper available for Android?
Yes. LendKeeper is available on the App Store for iPhone and on Google Play for Android. Both apps share the same core features. Differences: iCloud sync is iPhone-only, and the free Android version shows ads.
I bought Premium but don't see it.
iPhone: Open “Premium & Support” and tap “Restore Purchases”. Premium is tied to your Apple ID and works on all your devices – no subscription. Android: Premium is tied to your Google account; LendKeeper checks your purchases automatically when it starts. Sign in to the Play Store with the account you bought it with and restart LendKeeper.
Does my Premium purchase work on both iPhone and Android?
No. The App Store and Google Play are separate stores: Premium works on all devices with the same Apple ID or Google account, but not across systems.
How do I move from iPhone to Android – or the other way round?
Both apps read the same backup format. iPhone to Android: on the iPhone, go to Settings → “Export Backup”, copy the file to your Android device and import it there under Settings → “Restore backup” (Premium); you can choose “Replace” or “Merge”. Android to iPhone: on Android, use Settings → “Export backup” and import the backup on the iPhone (Premium). Encrypted backups work in both directions with the same password. Step by step: Moving between iPhone and Android.
How does iCloud sync work? (iPhone)
With Premium, turn it on in Settings → iCloud. Items, history and photos are synced across your devices via your own iCloud account. You need to be signed in to iCloud in iOS Settings. Syncing may take a few seconds to minutes. There is no sync on Android yet – use a backup there.
How do I back up my data?
iPhone: Settings → “Export Backup” creates a file with all items, history and photos. Android: Settings → “Export backup” – the same format, readable by both apps. The file ends in .lk (e.g. LendKeeper-Backup-2026-11-03.lk); tapping it in Mail or Files on the iPhone opens LendKeeper directly. Older backups (.json, and on Android also those from “Export database”) can still be restored. Backups can optionally be password-encrypted. Keep the password safe; an encrypted backup cannot be restored without it.
A QR label opens the browser instead of the app.
iPhone: Scan the label with the Camera app and tap the link shown. If LendKeeper is installed, the item opens directly. If not, delete and reinstall LendKeeper once (export a backup first). Android (LendKeeper 1.4 or later): labels open the app directly. If they don’t, allow the supported links under Android Settings → Apps → LendKeeper → “Open by default”. Labels always work with the scanner inside LendKeeper.
I don't get a reminder on the due date.
iPhone: Check iOS Settings → Notifications → LendKeeper and make sure notifications are allowed. Reminders arrive at 9 am on the due day. Android: Check Android Settings → Apps → LendKeeper → Notifications. LendKeeper notifies you as soon as a loan is overdue.
Why does the Android version show ads?
The free Android version is financed by ads from Google AdMob. Premium or the two larger “Buy me a coffee” tiers remove them permanently. The iPhone app contains no ads.
How do I delete my data?
All data is stored on your device: deleting the app removes it. On Android you can also use Settings → “Clear database” in the app. If you used iCloud sync on the iPhone, go to iOS Settings → your name (at the top) → iCloud → Manage Storage → LendKeeper.
